"Village" contributes to football success

MURFREESBORO – To start his weekly press conference on Monday, MTSU football Rick Stockstill didn’t talk about his team getting within a game of bowl eligibility with two games to play.

That came last Saturday with the win at Florida Atlantic that put the Blue Raiders at 5-5 overall and 4-2 in Conference USA play. Win either Saturday in the home finale against North Texas or at Texas-San Antonio on Nov. 28, and MTSU gets bowl eligible for a fourth-straight year and seventh time in eight under Stockstill.
