Darius Thompson making immediate impact for Cavaliers

MURFREESBORO — Former Blackman High basketball standout Darius Thompson has had a nice start to his career at Virginia, which is off to a 5-1 start and is ranked No. 12 in the country.

Thompson played at Tennessee two seasons ago as a freshman and sat out last season after transferring to Virginia. Before that at Blackman under coach Barry Wortman, he was an All-State, All-Region and All-District performer each of his last two seasons, guiding the Blaze to a 56-5 record during that span.
